Popis: | Inductive loads consume reactive power, which generates a distortion in the power factor of the grid. In order to cope with this situation, many techniques can give an approach to solve this problem, starting with the classic capacitor banks, following by the modern Flexible AC Transmissions Systems (FACTS), such as the Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM). This paper firstly presents an approach to the model of a three phase STATCOM based on a voltage source converter to compensate the reactive power and its simulation in open loop. Then, a predictive control technique together with a fuzzy control (for the DC voltage loop) applied to the STATCOM are shown. To analyze the performance of the proposed control technique, different load and input disturbances are considered in the simulation tests. |
