In this paper, a compact Balanced Antipodal Vivaldi Antenna (BAVA) is designed for V-band. The proposed antenna covers the frequency range from 40 - 75 GHz, having S 11 below -10dB. Results of conventional BAVA along with two modified structures one having a selective substrate cut-out, another having extended substrate as a director are compared. Modified structures give improved gain and lesser beam squint. The maximum gain of final design is 11.5 dB. This structure also gives very low cross polarization level. |
