Popis:	Digital image enhancement of microscope images encompasses both resolution enhancement, and image simplification and organisation by geometrical transformations. A variety of digital filtering techniques can be used to enhance the spatial resolution of digitised microscope images. When applied to images of banded chromosomes, it appears that of those tested, the maximum entropy method produces the most acceptable results, but its computational cost puts it at a great disadvantage.
