Popis:	Several studies have been conducted that involved full scale investigation of rapid crack propagation (RCP) in polyethylene (PE) pipes. Greig & Ewing1 showed that the critical pressure in a plastic pipe, which governs RCP, is very sensitive to temperature and that stringent controls on operating and proof test pressures are required for large diameter PE pipes.
