The use of pH and ORP as control parameters for the denitrification process in activation with intermittent aeration (simultaneous nitrification - denitrification) at municipal wastewater treatment plants is compared and dis- cussed. The termination of denitrification was identified either by both signals or ORP and pH independently. In addition, the signals were used for control of the whole activation process and for the improvement of its efficiency. |
