Popis:	Additional instrumentation and several modifications of a GEC/AEI MS9 double focusing mass spectrometer are described. These are for operation of the mass spectrometer in the negative ionization mode. The dependence of negative ion mass spectra on various experimental parameters and the importance in controlling these parameters is outlined. Negative ion mass spectra of nitrobenzene at various electron energies and pressures and of trinitrotoluene at various electron energies are shown. Differences in these mass spectra at different electron energies and pressures are discussed and a comparison with the positive ion mass spectra of these compounds is made.
