Popis: | In this paper, the thermal behaviour of the heating walls in a coke oven battery as a result of the heating system operation is presented. The obtained parameters included the transient local and average temperature and heat flux values on both sides and within of the heating wall. Such information can be used to improve the control system in terms of the transient heat delivery and a determination of the coking process completion because the intelligent management of coke oven batteries is currently based only on global and monitored parameters. The numerical simulations were performed using a validated coupled CFD model of the coke oven battery. The detailed model includes a representative heating flue and two coke oven half-chambers to fully reflect the unsteady and spatially local character of the heat delivery to the heating walls. The model and the presented results can easily be extended to an arbitrary coke oven battery system. |
