Popis: | Aitken (1942) reported the following species and subspecies of mosquitoes from the peninsula of Lower California: Anopheles (Anopheles) maculipennis freeborni Aitken (= A. freeborni) . A. (A.) pseudopunctipennis pseudopunctipennis Theobald (= A. pseudopunctipennis var. typicus auct.). A. (A.) pseudopunctipennis franciscanus McCracken. Aedes (Ochlerotatus) taeniorhynchus (Wiedemann). Ae. (Finlaya2) atropalpus (Coquillett). Ae. (Kompia3) purpureipes Aitken. Ae. (Stegomyia) aegypti (Linnaeus). Culex (Culex) tarsalis Coquillett. C. (C.) stigmatosoma Dyar (?)4. C. (C.) quinquefasciatus dipseticus Dyar and Knab Ross (1943) added the following three species to the list: Aedes (Finlaya) varipalpus (Coquillett). Psorophora (Grabhamia) discolor (Coquillett). P. (G.) signipennis (Coquillett). Downs and Bordas (1949), in a survey of malaria of the Southern Territory, collected specimens of a fourteenth species, Deinocerites epitedeus Knab, in crab holes at San Jose del Cabo. |
