P2PWeb is a hybrid protocol associating the centralized client/server and non-centralized P2P architectures for delivering strongly requested content. In this protocol, users act as relays for new clients trying to get the content. In this paper we adapt and test P2PWeb protocol for delivering Live content (IPTV). Optimizations for both the active tracker and the provision of the rarest chunk improve significantly the Quality of Service (QoS) in comparison with a simple client-server delivery model. The experimentation results and the performance evaluations that we have made show a significant reduction in traffic providing from the server and an increase in P2P traffic allowing a drastic reduces of servers used for delivering the content (CDN). |
