Popis: | This survey paper includes a modernized update on multiple initiatives taken to enhance the perceptual bass. The auditory feeling of the low-frequency pitch is discussed and a vivid analysis of the missing fundamental effect is provided. This paper shows the trend of attempting the virtual bass enhancement in active noise cancelling (ANC) headphones. A wide range of commercial products of the ANC headphones are compared. Moreover, this paper briefly introduces a virtual bass toolbox that is easy to use for beginners and elaborates three main kinds of virtual bass enhancement algorithms. We present some open questions in the last portion of this paper, providing some potential directions for the future research. |
