Popis: | This work reports on bacterial isolation, and on studies of concrete and iron samples affected by biologic hydrolysis and oxidation in Larderello geothermal electric plants. In this research 24 wild strains of Thiobacillus sp. and Ferrobacillus sp. were isolated, these being the organisms responsible for the deterioration of materials. After isolation and biochemical identification of the strain, the activity of 48 biocides and antibiotics was tested. The minimum inactivity concentration was found in 22 compounds. The paper also reports the practical results of using concrete with added biocide samples in an experimental plant where the natural conditions of corrosion are simulated. |
