Studies on Lanthanide(III) Ternary Mixed-Ligand Complexes with N-(2-Propionic Acid)-Salicyloyl Hydrazone and Isonicotinic Acid: Synthesis, Characterization, and Antibacterial Activities

Popis: A series of lanthanide(III) complexes Ln 2 (HL)(L)(iso)(H 2 O) 4 (where Ln = La(III), Pr(III), Nd(III), Sm(III), Eu(III), Gd(III), Tb(III), Dy(III), Er(III) and H 3 L = N-(2-propionic acid)-salicyloyl hydrazone, Hiso = isonicotinic acid) have been synthesized in ethanol-water mixture and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, molar conductance, IR, UV-vis spectra, X-ray powder diffraction, and the structures of the complexes were speculated. Inhibiting activities of six complexes against coliform were investigate by turbidimetry/spectrometry and the results showed that all these complexes possessed good antibacterial activities against coliform.
