Development of an aquaculture suitability assessment system of sea areas based on plug-in technology

Popis: To scientifically and rationally evaluate the suitable area for mariculture and optimize the structure and layout of the sea for aquaculture, this paper combines GIS software (ArcGIS) and the extension matter-element model, writes the script file of the extension matter-element model for evaluating suitability of the sea for aquaculture based on Python language, uses the C# language and the ArcObjects component development platform to create the ArcGIS Desktop Add-in plug-in, develops a system of sea suitability evaluation for aquaculture, and applies it to the coastal area of Liaoning province. The research shows that: (i) The scheme proposed in this paper integrates the functional characteristics of the extension matter-element model, which is suitable for multi-index evaluation, and ArcGIS spatial analysis through the “platform/plug-in” system architecture. It can provide a way to evaluate the suitability of sea for aquaculture in a rapid and accurate manner. (ii) The system evaluation results are in good agreement with the status quo. The system has strong applicability and universality, and can provide a reference for the selection of aquaculture sea area and the suitability evaluation in other fields.
