Popis:	Benzylic, aryl, and alkyl halides react with formate esters and carbon monoxide, in the presence of the dimer of chloro(hexa-1,5-diene)rhodium(I), [1,5-HDRhCl]2, to give carboxylic esters; bimetallic catalysis {i.e., Pd(PPh3)4/[1,5-HDRhCl]2} is particularly beneficial when an aromatic halide is used as the substrate.
