Design and Characterization of 1800MHz TM Mode Circular Waveguide Array Antenna for Energy Harvesting Application

Popis: In this paper, the design and characterization of 1800MHz transverse magnetic (TM) mode circular waveguide array antenna are presented for energy harvesting application. The proposed array antenna is constructed by 2 × 2 elements of circular waveguide antenna in asymmetric configuration and fed through microstrip line networks. In order to properly work at the frequency of 1800MHz available for harvesting the Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) energy, each circular waveguide antenna is designed to have the height of 40mm and the radius of 68mm. Parametric studies based on simulation are performed to acquire optimum design of the configuration as well as the feeding network. The experimental characterization shows that the prototype of realized array antenna which takes the total dimension of 350mm×350mm achieved reflection coefficient (S 11 ) value of -30.32dB at the frequency of 1840MHz suitable for the desired application.
