Popis: This paper describes an exploratory analysis which was conducted in order to develop further understanding of variables that correlate with safer sexual behaviour and with the effectiveness of educational interventions. The Talking Sex Project was an HIV risk reduction education project for gay and bisexual men. It was one of the first major evaluations of any AIDS education in Canada and one of the few studies anywhere to apply a randomized control design. The project involved the collaboration of The AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT), a community based organization which has taken primary responsibility for education to prevent the spread of AIDS within the gay and bisexual community of Toronto; Sunnybrook Medical Centre; and the University of Toronto. The investigative team for the project included health professionals, academic and community educators with a variety of social, educational and health interests. The interventions which were the subject of investigation were modelled on The Stop AIDS Project, a San Francisco community experience in communication and the 800 Men Project, New York.
