Australia has witnessed heavy wildfires since 2019, which were especially serious in eastern Victoria. What's worse, climate change can make situations more serious. Surprisingly the unmanned drones can help a lot in dealing with wildfires, which are divided into two types: one for surveillance and situation awareness (SSA) and another for extending the communication range limited by circumstances. This paper aims to provide purchase and deployment plans of both kinds of drones to the government of Victoria taking the fires on one of the mountains as examples. To achieve that, we establish three models. Firstly, a multi-objective programming model is used to make the plan reasonable comprehensively. Considering the safety of firemen, mutual interference of different drones, and consumption of drones, we build the model to study the best solution under constraints. After learning the basic size and frequency of wildfires in Victoria, we can construct the drones' system better. The second model is established to optimize the locations of repeater drones. We take our basic assumptions into consideration and put forward the possible locations of repeater drones. Based on new assumptions, we obtain the optimal results of repeater drones. The third model is established to obtain the patrol route of SSA drones, considering the safety of firemen and the capability of drones, then SSA drones' number and patrol mode are confirmed through boustrophedon decomposition. Then we can make the cost of the wildfire rescue system minimum. |
