Popis: | An architecture has been developed based on circuit breakers with electronic trip units, with a redundant zone selective interlocking based on traditional wiring and Ethernetbased connection. Such architecture was tested on an application marine installation with two generators, a motor and a set of auxiliary loads. This plant, although very simple, includes all the features required on larger-scale installations, namely: presence of multiple power sources, fault current backfeed from motor loads, selective coordination based on zone separation.A test setup was designed and built, where the sample installation was simulated in real time by a digital system, connected to digital to analog converters which provide signals to current and voltage inputs of protection devices. This allows the application to be tested in all conditions using the actual devices and having them interact like in the real installation. The selectivity scheme that has been envisioned, based on the above features, can meet the performance and reliability requirements needed to be used by shipbuilders in their designs. |
