Popis: | The therapy of urge and mixed-urge stress incontinence is controversially discussed in literature. In 624 females undergoing urodynamic investigations in a gynaecological practice we found 183 (29%) with a mixed stress-urge incontinence and 41(7%) with only urge incontinence. In a retrospective study urodynamic findings, way of therapy, and follow-ups are demonstrated. Only 8% had urological reasons for urge incontinence while 92% had the idiopathic form. In mixed stress-urge incontinence, the way of therapy is due to the dominant form of incontinence : cases of moderate urge but severe stress incontinence should be treated like the latter, and vice versa. The most important part of therapy is still the bladder drill supported by drugs and physiotherapy. By these means we found a success rate of 83%, declining to 73% after one year, and only 53% after five years of follow-up. But therapy might be repeated any time. |
