Popis: | A vast variety of cement additives are being used in the industry for different purposes. The need for utilization of new agents with higher efficiency and lower costs is increasing with the current challenging wellbore drilling and completion expenses. In this research a new natural and accessible additive is introduced. The Cassia fistula dry extract was added to the cement slurry and showed excellent retardation property with increasing cement thickening time significantly in low concentrations. The optimum range of application was determined up to 0.15% BWOC based on rheological properties. At this concentration and in a medium temperature, thickening time of the slurry was increased by 269 min. Consistency profile of the cement was improved to a RAS (Right angle set) behavior which is excellent for cementing operations and could be beneficial in facing the problem of gas migration. Other critical tests were carried out for a comprehensive study on the effects of this natural additive and it was observed that no negative effects were caused by this agent. |
