Pristine and Co, Pd, Ni-doped TiO2 nanoparticles were synthesized by using the facile Sol-Gel method. Surface morphology was studied using SEM micrographs indicating the presence of agglomerated grains doped TiO2 nanoparticles. The optical band gap of pure and doped TiO2 nanoparticles has been studied using UV DRS spectroscopy. The band gap of the doped samples decreases except for Co–TiO2. The decrement in the band gap is due to the charge transfer from the dopant energy level of Pd3+ and Ni3+ to the conduction band of TiO2 as well as the defects caused by the Pd3+ and Ni3+ doping in TiO2 lattice. |
