Popis: The efficacy of selected microbial insecticides for control of soybean looper in Louisiana was evaluated in two small-plot insecticide trials at the Dean Lee Research Station in Rapides Parish, LA. Tests 1 and 2 (‘Buckshot 723’) were both conducted on 15 Aug when soybeans were in the R5 growth stage. Treatments were applied using a hand-held CO2-pressurized sprayer calibrated to deliver 15 gpa at 35 psi through Teejet® 8002 flat fan nozzles. Plots in both tests were 4 rows wide (38 inches row spacing) by 50 ft and were arranged in a RCB design with 4 replications. At 3 and 7 DAT, one 25-sweep sample was taken from each plot with a 15-inch diam sweep net. Both tests received 0.57, 0.02, and 0.10 inches rainfall on 18, 21, and 22 Aug, respectively.
