Popis:	At the first International Philately Meeting (Barcelona, 1960), philately was declared as ‘‘history-helper science’’ [1]. This was partly because there is no other witness capable of pinpointing a date, event or historically important person more effectively. The purpose of our work is to demonstrate the influence of Anesthesiology, Reanimation and Pain Therapy on Spanish and French philately, two countries which were not initially involved in the discovery of anesthesia in 1846.
