Popis: Fault location, fast service restoration and controlling of abnormal loadings are the key challenges in electrical distribution system. Under normal operating conditions, the switches are electrically separated. The conventional methods used to detect the fault location; power thefting and control of overloading are time-consuming and costly, disturbing the entire distribution system. The need of automation of the distribution system plays a vital role for the proper detection, isolation and detection of the fault. In this paper, the distribution automation system is developed for the rapid fault detection, isolation, and service restoration to reduce time and maintenance costs comparatively. Initially, the fault and theft is detected and smart energy meters are used for communication purpose through GSM. The information will be sent to the customers remotely through the network to the utility providers.
