Popis: Graphite/epoxy composites (Gr/Ep) are known to be stable for 2–3 years when use for space structures. Long-life space mission results in the loss of a number of physico-chemical properties and values of physico-mechanical parameters. In order to enhance dimensional stability of Gr/Ep and to protect them against moisture and space environment effects, a protective coating made of Invar foil in the form of upper and lower co-cured laminae is suggested. The comparison is made of the changes in the properties of Gr/Ep laminate structures with Invar and metal film coatings under the simulated action of space environment.
