Popis: | Cloud seeding operations were started in the 1950s in the world and in the 1990s in Iran. Locations and their features are important for the results of cloud seeding. One of the most important factors to study in site selection for cloud seeding projects is the relationship between winds and precipitation in the region of interest. The present research was performed in central Iran, using wind direction and speed data for both surface and tropospheric levels. Highest wind speeds usually occur in rainy months in these regions, when airflows are from the west and southwest. As the southeasterly to southwesterly winds at the 850 hPa level at Bandar Abbas Station in rainy days pass the southern sea (Persian Gulf, Arabian, and Oman Seas), and then cross the high mountains of Kerman, these flows transport humidity to Central Iran, creating instability and precipitation in the process. Based on the findings of this research, we conclude that these points are important for the implementation of cloud seeding proj... |
