Popis: Herein, a new approach to improve the energy management (EM) control logic based on improving control-oriented operations of HEV system via deriving rules with considering the vehicle speed tracking feature is proposed. For this sake, an evolutionary strategy optimization technique in the EM problem is applied. To realize the proposed method, a generic framework for modelling the HEV-system is proposed which has the desired flexibility and simplicity for applying in the EM studies. Investigation on minimizing the overall fuel consumption and controlling the decision variables are taken as an optimization objective where a new heuristic procedure for control operation is presented. Using computational examples on series-parallel architecture on the several driving missions, fuel consumption improvement with enough accuracy was observed and the effectiveness of the recommended approach for finding the improved decision variables resulting in design of effective EM strategies was confirmed.
