Popis:	Visible light lasers have been in clinical use for nearly 20 years. These lasers have proven to be safe and effective in the surgical management of stapes fixation. The lack of mechanical trauma and hemostasis are significant advantages when compared with earlier techniques, especially for the occasional stapes surgeon. The use of an optical fiber hand piece allows the surgeon to use the laser in a fashion similar to traditional otologic instruments and represents a notable step forward for otologic surgery.
