Popis: The increasing rate of mobile users has led to an exponential growth in the data rate demand. To address such high date rate demand researchers have introduced the concept of Heterogeneous Network (Het-Net). In Het-Net macro cells along with several small cells operate. These small cells, namely femtocells are deployed in indoor areas to provide high network coverage. Though Het-Net architecture increases network coverage but both Macro cell and Femtocell operates in the same frequency range. This creates severe interference which reduces the users’ QoS. The use of cognitive radio in femtocells reduces interference as it has the ability to sense the spectrum before transmitting. However, considering the number of femtocells deployed in close proximity the possibility of sensing the same set of available channels increases. So, an interference control mechanism among the femtocells is required. In this work we propose an efficient interference control mechanism among the adjacent cognitive femtocells. The interference control problem is addressed by playing auction game among the Cognitive Femtocells. This game aims to allocate a channel to the corresponding cognitive femtocell in pareto optimal manner. In this approach not only the channels are allocated in fair manner but the power of the system is optimized along with increased SINR value. It is observed that the SINR of the optimized system shows ~80% improvement
