Popis: The persistance of Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki HD-1 and its potency as a control agent to reduce the losses caused by the potato tuber moth Phthorimaea operculella in stores has been investigated. In stores where shady conditions exist, the persistance of B. thuringiensis lasts longer as compared to the short persistance in the field where ultraviolet radiation is the main effective factor. B. thuringiensis proved that it could protect the potato tubers when applied inside stores for periods up to 255 days, particularly at high doses.
