Popis: |
The modeling of supported metal catalysts to allow the identification of the chemical species present on the active surface is an exciting application of tunneling spectroscopy. Such catalysts are essential to a growing number of industrial processes, and while much is known about their general use little is known about the reaction intermediates formed on their catalytic surfaces. Since the chemistry of interest is in a surface monolayer in close proximity to an oxide (often aluminum oxide) modeling the essential features of these catalysts with tunneling junctions is a promising area of research. |
