Popis: Theoretical overview of the basic approaches to floral analysis that are applied for description of the vegetation cover in different regions of the world is presented in the article. The key types of analyses (taxonomic, geographical, biomorphological, ecological-coenotic) have been performed on the flora of the Unzha River valley (Kostroma oblast, Russia). Complex floral analysis may be used for estimation of the biodiversity in both plant communities and concrete territories.
