Popis: | When attempting to evaluate seismic attributes in multisurvey regions, the interpreter often runs into difficulty due to scaling differences between surveys. According to the Acoustic Ecology Institute (2001), as many as 50 surveys are performed in the Gulf of Mexico in any given year. The recorded seismic response varies widely from survey to survey; this is exacerbated by differing processing flows (e.g., true amplitude, depth migration, AVO-enhancing). The result is that the “true” seismic amplitude can vary widely from survey to survey, even when they cover the same area of interest. How then can amplitude horizons picked in different surveys be compared in a meaningful manner? |
