Popis:	The subject of this paper is a comparative review of legal solutions in three states nearby geografically and culturally. The main thesis of this paper is including into general legal category “environment” also elements of the cultural environment, first of all monuments. A link between protection of the natural environment and protection of the cultural environment is landscape as a subject of legal protection. After review of instruments devoted to protection of the environment and monuments according to administrative and penal law in three states is stated a proposition to prepare in Poland a separate act on the protection of landscape.
