Popis: | The electron beam in a free electron laser (FEL) becomes axially modulated at the optical wavelength of the FEL radiation. This electron beam passed through a gas may produce intense Cherenkov radiation. The effects of the radial and axial dimension of the electron bunches on the radiation are explored. |
