Relatively little is known about the characteristics and behavior of consumer resellers. Using data collected by the Bureau of Labor Statistics this paper presents a profile of a group of households that earn income by selling their personal possessions. They were found to be upscale, with high consumption expenditure levels. They put forth considerable time and effort in selling rather than destroying or otherwise disposing of their chattels. |
