Popis: | Primary school dropout rate in Bangladesh is very high. Both the government and the NGOs have taken many initiatives to raise the quality of education and reduce the dropout rate. In this study we explore the impacts of supplementary tutoring provided to primary school students in different districts of Bangladesh. The goal of this programme is to reduce dropouts and to improve the class performance of the primary school students. We find that after-hour tutoring, offered to Grade 2 students, helped them to continue up to Grade 5. However, it did not exhibit any significant impact on test scores. |
