Popis:	Statistics derived from the Zoological Record show the dominance of Chinese and Soviet descriptive work on fossil cephalopods over the last 20 years. Linnean binomials should be used to reflect personal views about the extent of intraspecific variation of each species. But paleontologists should also be encouraged to continue the specimen by specimen description of these fossils, by reducing the importance of divergent species concepts.
