A New Method for Measuring Energy Distribution of Photoelectrons Application to Complex Au–Cs Films

Popis: We measure the energy distribution of photoelectrons by analyzing them with an electrostatic system and forming an image of the spectrum on a photographic plate with an electronic camera. The resolving power is better than 0.1 eV. Four types of films have been investigated: (1) pure gold films; (2) gold films covered with a submonoatomic layer of Cs; (3) gold films covered with a thick layer of Cs; (4) sandwiches structures obtained by evaporating successively gold, cesium, and gold.
