Differential and total cross sections up to 500 MeV for neutrino absorption in 16 O, leading to levels in 16 F, have been calculated on the basis of a Helm model description for the corresponding transition densities, with parameters determined from form factor fits of 16 O electroexcitation data. We also present the low-energy (≦ 53 MeV) cross sections weighted by the neutrino spectra of muon decay, which are of importance for the proposed LAMPF experiments using neutrinos from stopped muons. |
