In this paper, a fast evaluation method on power system frequency stability is proposed. System frequency response characteristic is further studied, which reveals the main constraints on system frequency stability in the power grid with renewable energy. Considering the DC blocking happened in the receiving-end power grid, security control measure is also introduced to maintain the frequency in an allowed range. Furthermore, the quantitative relationship between maximum frequency deviation and minimum system inertia is researched. In a case study of Northwest Power Grid, the results show that the proposed method has a promising significance on engineering applications. |
