Device for pure shear deformation of single crystals

Popis: c glide in tellurium single crystals cannot be studied by conventional uniaxial tests because slip on other glide systems cannot be suppressed, and because these systems are also active. We have developed a shearing device which allows this study to be performed. This attachment and the first results are described. The device can be used for problems such as the study of cross slip mechanisms, because it forces the deformation to occur in a given glide plane.
