At present, the waterproof paper used on the market are coated with PE on the surface of the paper to make it waterproof. However, this kind of paper product cannot be completely degraded. At the same time, the recycling of waste paper and the secondary recycling of fiber in papermaking, which can bring certain difficulties and are easy to cause environmental pollution. This paper presented waterproof and oil-proof paper can be made via surface coating, which was modified beeswax emulsion by polyvinyl alcohol and nano-silica and mixed with environmental-friendly water-borne acrylic resin emulsion to increase the roughness and film forming property on the surface. The paper also studied the properties of the waterproof and oil-proof paper from the aspects of beeswax concentration, drying temperature, friction resistance, and the number of coating layers. The results showed that when the concentration of modified beeswax was 6%, the coating amount was 8 g/m2, and after heat treatment at 80 °C, the modified beeswax had excellent waterproof and oil-proof performance, the contact angle of water reached by 148 (±2)°, and the oil-proof grade was grade 12. It conformed to the application requirements in the field of food packaging and can replace the PE paper. |
