Model reception in the domain of engineering education: Mediation and negotiation

Popis:	This paper pursues a two‐fold objective. The first aim is to survey the results of inquiries into the conditions under which models for training engineers were transferred between countries, and to underline some of the deficiencies they present The second involves proposing an alternative research agenda which would focus on the issue of reception and place special emphasis on the individuals and structures through which the transfer was mediated, their collective roles, their interaction and their varied interpretations of the transfer content The new agenda would also allow us to reconsider the appropriation of technical models as a result of negotiations between the training of engineers, their occupational role and the local environment.
