The singlet-singlet, triplet-triplet and singlet-triplet matrix elements of the Breit-Pauli hamiltonian are calculated for helium and other elements of the helium iso-electronic sequence and are used for the calculation of the so-called “mixing coefficient” of singlet and triplet states. Numerical results are given for principal quantum number n = 2, 3, …, 10, azimuthal quantum number l = 1, 2, 3, 4 and nuclear charge Z = 2, 3, … 10. In addition to this, asymptotic results are given for fixed l and n → ∞. |
