An initial evaluation of the hydrogen sulfide (H2S) formation potential under produced water reinjection (PWRI) for samples taken from the A/S Norske Shell operated Draugen platform has been performed using the Sawyer and McCarthy model. This model provides an estimate to the maximum H2S generation potential. The modeling results have been considered to be adequate for input to preliminary PWRI evaluations and can together with laboratory experiments and field trials be used to design reinjection operations and keep extra costs to a minimum. |
