In this paper, a demand response framework is developed where a smart neighborhood focus on minimizing the variability of demand, as well as to minimize each of their own energy costs. Each of the residents focuses on their own objective to minimize their cost while the utility tries to minimize the variability by reducing peaks and filling valleys. These objectives usually are in conflict with each other thus multi-objective optimization is used to achieve a set of solutions which then the residents could use to choose from to implement an agreeable solution for all the users. The proposed solution is implemented for uninterruptible appliances such as washing machines and the results are discussed. |
