Continuing a joint PTB/NPL/GSF programme, the experimental determination of the responses of four sets of Bonner spheres has been extended to twelve monoenergetic neutron energies in the range from 1.17 keV to 14.8 MeV. Comparison of the measured responses with calculated ones revealed significant discrepancies. A renormalisation of the calculated responses by factors which strongly depend on the sphere diameter was necessary in order to fit the experimental data |
