Popis: | Some conditions for preparation of an antibacterial ceramic filter from montmorillonite, supporting silver chelate of 2,2′-dipyridyl, were examined. The most desirable filter was prepared as follows: the montmorillonite supporting the chelate to the extent of 10% of the molar quantity of its ion exchange capacity was adjusted to contain 90 wt% water and was coated on a porous support tube. After drying in vacuo the tube was heated to 870°C in air. The resulting coating, with a thickness of 10–15 μm, consisted of an “entangled thread”-like porous structure containing pores of 5 μm or less in diameter and exhibited activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Echerichia coli. |
