Popis: | Both ovarian malignancy and gonadal dysgenesis in the adolescent period are rare. Ovarian tumors represent approximately 1% of childhood malignancies. Gonadal dysgenesis is also unusual and results when the germ cells are lacking and the ovary is replaced by a fibrous streak. An 18-year-old with primary amenorrhea, acute pelvic pain, and a 16-cm pelvic mass was found to have both a malignant mixed germ cell tumor and a contralateral streak ovary. |
